Description: Arabic Collections Online (ACO) is a digital collection of public domain Arabic language content that is open to the public, ACO now gives digital access to 17,262 volumes covering 10,148 subjects from prestigious research libraries' vast Arabic collections, This mass digitization project, which was funded with support from NYU Abu Dhabi and is currently supported by major grants from Arcadia, a charitable fund founded by Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin, and Carnegie Corporation of New York aims to feature up to 23,000 volumes from NYU and partner institutions' library collections. These institutions are donating published volumes from their Arabic language libraries in a variety of subjects, including literature, business, science, and more.

Columbia Encyclopedia

Description: The first five editions of The Columbia Encyclopedia were published in 1935, 1950, 1963, 1975, and 1993. All editions owe a debt of gratitude to Clark Fisher Ansley, the editor of the first edition, but the third edition also owes a debt to the second, and so on down to today. However, as the longest period of time between editions was that between the fourth and the fifth, and the shortest that between the fifth and the present sixth, it seems particularly appropriate to acknowledge the work of the editors, consultants, and advisers of the fifth edition.
