Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB)

What is the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB)?

The Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) is a premier digital research repository available to the Egyptian academic community. Established as one of the world's largest national digital libraries, it grants the faculty, staff, and students of Newgiza University (NGU) unrestricted access to a vast ecosystem of peer-reviewed journals, international databases, and specialized educational resources.

Access the EKB via https://www.ekb.eg/

Google vs EKB

While public search engines such as Google Scholar are effective tools for locating academic citations, they do not provide the necessary subscriptions to read the content, often leading users to publisher paywalls.

The EKB serves as the institutional subscription platform that authenticates your access. By using your NGU credentials, the EKB allows you to bypass these paywalls and retrieve the full text of high-impact literature from the world’s leading publishers, including:

  • Elsevier & ScienceDirect (Scientific and Medical Research)

  • Springer Nature (Multidisciplinary Sciences)

  • IEEE Xplore (Engineering and Technology)

  • ClinicalKey (Evidence-based Clinical Insight)

  • Emerald Insight (Business and Management)
